Numb feet....

I’m on r3w8 and am really struggling 20 mins in with pins and needles and numbness in my foot.

I’ve loosened my laces, thin socks, smaller steps and other random stuff but can’t seem to stop it happening.

Anyone else got any tips or had this too? Please help, I really want to carry on!!

Have you had your gait analysed at a proper running shop?

It really is likely down to shoe choice or foot shape.

First thing I would try if I was happy with my shoes would be different lacing patterns. If you google "runners lacing patterns" you will find lots of different ways to try.

If it persists I suggest visiting the doctors. It is quite possible that your foot issue could come from an inflamed nerve in your back/pelvis. Numbness should not be ignored. :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which includes a link to a guide to buying shoes.

Most people find their feet swell when running, to the extent that some people wear running shoes two sizes larger than normal sizes.

Numbness and pins and needles can be symptomatic of restricted blood flow.

Enjoy your journey.

We all have different-shaped feet and there are loads of different ways to lace your shoes to make them more comfortable when you run. I've added a link to one article showing different lacing styles, but there are tons of others. Having said that, if the numbness persists after exploring different lacing and/or shoes, then it's probably best to get it checked out. Good luck
