What’s everyone’s favourite music to run to? I’m loving a bit of Rocky 4 soundtrack at the moment 😬
Favourite running music: What’s everyone’s... - Couch to 5K
Favourite running music
I’m constantly on ‘The Greatest Showman’. I now know the length of each track and that helps me time how much further I have to run. Week 7 and I still don’t know all the lyrics !
Haha I’ve not seen that movie so not sure what the musics like!
There are over 100 types of music you can run to from Mozart to Death Metal, however, a more mainstream of runners music can be found on Spotify, jancanrun's playlists are very popular and can be found on Spotify.
Doesn’t this go into your internet downtime though Al?
I have been listening to Tom Walker, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran lately
I’ve got a playlist of dance tracks. Wanted to rave around the track tonight, not run.
I’ve only had music on the last couple of runs so on my iPhone playlist shuffle (matches my running style!) I’ve had Handl, Dixie Chicks, Springsteen, Chris Rea, First Aid Kit, Penguin Cafe Orchestra!! Haven’t worked out how to make a proper playlist yet!
Not often I come across another Penguin Cafe Orchestra fan, hadn't thought about them for running to, thanks.
I love running to acdc if I'm starting to flag and a song like all night long comes on i soon find myself running along to the beat lol
I have several play lists downloaded from Amazon Music - 80's rock ballads, music for running, power walking playlist, rock and pop for runners, plus a few "best of" for groups I enjoy...the choice is seemingly endless. I tend to veer towards the "soft rock" category but there are play lists for all music tastes and moods.
For me has to be rock music abit of motley crue goes a long way
Afro Celt (Sound System)
My favourite Northern Soul tracks. It's my happy music and I can focus on that and not the pain. 🤣
The Night by Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons is my perfect bpm!
I have The Night on mine.
When I was younger my brother convinced me it was The Knife, and some sort of devil worshipping evil. I was terrified every time he played it 😱👹🤣🤣
I made myself an 80s playlist so I run to that.
Michael Jackson, ABBA, Phil Collins, Police, dance music from the 90s. These are all good.
Mine is pretty eclectic! Current tracks are:- Don't talk to me about love, Highway to hell, September (EWF), thinking of you (sister sledge), Boogie Wonderland, Seven Seas of Rhye and Under pressure by Queen, the latter I have been known to burst into song whilst running! Also Domino (Jessie J) and Forget You C-lo Green!
I did a post previously it may be useful to look at :- healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I also listen to Rocky when I am running. When I do my warm up walk, I listen to eye of the tiger. Just to pump myself up and get rid of my nerves or doubts (always there at the start of a new week or different length of run). I then start the run with the rocky training music from rocky IV. Nice beat that slowly builds up. Then hearts on fire comes immediately afterwards. Towards the end of the run, I listen to gonna fly now as it is puts me in a good mood that I have accomplished something. Some Hans Zimmer music (Time - Inception is a favourite one) finally for the warm down to relax me. Other songs in my playlist include Run Boy Run by Woodkid, Stronger by Kanye West and It’s On Again by Alicia Keys. I have had this set playlist since day one of C25K.
I make playlists that are longer than my run - say 45 minutes of music then have them on shuffle so I don't know what's coming - but I know I will like it. When I get bored of it, I make a new playlist or revert to an old one (that is like meeting up with an old friend). Last night's playlist included Avicci, Pat Benatar (Fire and Ice), Lady Marmalade - (the version by four solo female artists), Hard Fi, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello and Spandau Ballet. Faves from other playlists include S&M by Rhianna (always get a good pace to that), Ed Sheeran, David Guetta, Blue Oyster Cult etc etc.
I graduated to Rocky...that was the final song that came on when I was finishing ! Other than that a mixture of 95 songs on my Spotify playlist but most of it “cheesey pop” 😂 and I select shuffle so never know what’s going to come on 🎧🏃♀️
Well, Neilix, you really started something with your post - some brilliant music coming out here!
Rocky soundtracks are great as I love all the films , now I have a bit if anything from ed sheeran to primal scream to stone roses anything upbeat 😊
I couldn't run without music but I have a very eclectic library. Everything from O60s Beatles to Dean Martin etc .
I find 120 beats per minute suits my running
Anything by queen mainly😀
Gregory Porter, Liquid spirit, (Claptone mix), this track keeps me going!
I have a few playlists but the tracks that get me going are The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy, Survivor by Destiny's child, Everybody (all over the world) by FPI projuect, Just got Paid by Sigala and White flag by Bishop Briggs and I like Roar by Katy Perry at the end
Early 90s rave from Mixcloud. My jogging matches the breakbeats.
My graduation run yesterday was accompanied by AC/DC, Queen,
T-Rex, Guns n Roses, INXS, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, The White Stripes and The Vaccines 😀
My preferred genre is rock and although I’ve enjoyed running to Royal Blood, Foo fighters & Queens of the Stone Age, I’m actually finding that I run better to Katy Perry and Taylor swift 😂. Some of their tracks have a really good beat that fits my running pace.
