starting to feel fit enough to start running

After it feels like an eternity, startining to get back to running. My 4 year old put me through torture trying to keep up with him yesterday at our local junior park run. Thankfully it was deserved he got a PB.

A friend suggested a back brace to start back running and wow what a difference. Felt so much more comfortable after the run, but that could also be because it was over lol. So tonight I tried the local SRG run, had to stop a couple of times but felt great afterwards.

So time to get back on the C25K program as I really have missed my running. As I am off this week from work I have no excuses. After tonight’s run “I can do this” is all I am going to say to myself. Week 6 here I come “again”

Great to see you're back. Take it steady, listen to your body and ease back into it.

Thanks, I will. Need to get through the program. Back and ankle much better and physio gave me some great exercises to keep going. Hope you have had a great time running, not been on the forum for a while.

Nice that you are back running, wow, a 4-year-old running a PB and beating you, was that a 1K, 2k? surely it wasn't a 5K.

Lol, it was his 7th junior parkrun (2k). He is mad about the park runs, when the local one was cancelled I had to drive 30 mins to take him to the closest one. After this weekends run, he had so much energy left I was thinking a nice slow parkrun (5k) with him in a few weeks but I think I’ll be to slow for him lol. My 10 year old won’t run with me as I’m to slow.

His PB 12.59 for 2k nearly killed me. He is getting better each week. Soon I’ll need to use a bike just to keep up with him.

That's amazing, I bet by the time he is 8 or 9 he will be running sub 25 minute 5K's at parkruns, you have a future star as a son.
