Hi

I completed the couch to 5k just before my 56th birthday and Christmas. Due to weather and other stuff, I have stuck to the treadmill after three first 2 weeks.

I really struggled to maintain the 3x 30mins a week; especially in February. Anyway apart from the odd bad run (as in did 5 mins then gave up) I have kept at it.

I missed the routine of progression and being pushed, so downloaded the couch to 10K app - the method in my madness wasn’t to get to 10K but to make 5k easier!!

Anyway just completed the 4th week and realised after trotting along for 45mins “I no longer hate or dislike this, I don’t love it but it’s ok!”. This has taken me 6 months - it’s easier (not easy) and I know if I wanted I could push to an hour.

Today I ran 4 miles in 50mins 😁

Keep going everyone. I feel ready to get outside and start with about 1.5miles and work upwards - then a park run👍🏻

Oh - just treated myself to some new trainers too 😁

Sorry, me again. Which 10k app do you use?

5k to 10k - powered by Active. The icon is a blue/turquoise back ground with the 10 in lime green and white K (right bottom corner has the Active logo in lime green) hope that helps!

Thank you. I think that I may also struggle without someone telling me to shift my booty!
