So this is my last week of the couch to 5K program. I must say I am glad I have my eyes on a 10K and other bits and bobs to keep me motivated!
I done my run yesterday and I was still feeling the effect of the outing on my bike and my run on the Sunday. Calves didnt quite recover from the run (having said that my calves have been tender for the last 2 months!). Minor soreness for the top half from our silly thirty something going on teens DIY ramp jumping on the bikes, good times. on top of that still tired from the changes of the clocks. I decided to take this one slow.
What a lovely day for it. Rain ended up being pretty much guaranteed but I got lucky! lovely sun and decided to do the same run as on Sunday, in reverse. My wife was disturbed as she only walked that one in one direction only! that route is bang on for this length of time. I set off being conscious of my legs and tried to avoid the fiasco from the start of my run on Sunday so I went at a cool pace which I managed to keep until the hill started. I think I prefer this route this way as I finish on a gentle slope down to my place which helps in the last stretch. I had selected an entirely different playlist of slow beat tunes to relax on during the run, worked a treat.
So 30 minutes... strangely do-able all things considered! Done the full 30 minutes having to stop only to cross the road.
The strangest of things... I didnt sweat. This, I found weird considering how much I stank on Sunday!
In the end, I covered 6K in 40 minutes moving time (5K in just over 30 minutes) - slower and less distance than the previous run. Very happy with this one.
I think I will follow the same run tomorrow and, providing my legs allow it, "go for it" on Saturday or Sunday and gorge on pork ribs off the BBQ!
Good times
