W6R1 - from grumpy to great!

After sailing through the 20 min run at the end of W5 I found returning to intervals quite frustrating - found it hard to get and keep a steady rhythm, and also generally felt quite irritable and tired from work etc. But the last 5 minutes felt really good, even fun, and looking forward to the longer run at the end of the week!

I’m at the same stage as you and found this run harder than the 20mins. Someone commented to me that the feeling was quite common. I timed my run to finish at my local corner shop. They didn’t have what I needed but after the short break I felt good enough to run home..... another half mile.

That does catch people out, but the frustration helps because soon you will be released from interval running, and you’ll be ready for it! Clever old c25k!!

Good work ⭐️ After 5:3, people often feel overconfident with 6:1 and pay the price. It’s just a gentle reminder to go slow and steady. Enjoy the rest of the week x

Just done 6:1 too. I ran the furthest I have so far but struggled towards the end. I figured pushing myself today, when I had the luxury of some rest walks, would boost stamina for the long runs to come. There was a point halfway up the last hill when I regretted that decision but I'm grinning now. Well done us!

Hi, well done on completing the run. Like you I found it annoying to walk /run, I think it helps with building up stamina?

I am abit ahead of you, week 7, where there is only the warm up, warm down walk, I feel abit like my comfort blanket mid-way walk has been taken away from me!

Keep going, remember how you were when you started the programme, and that you now feel abit frustrated not grateful at the walking bits!

I'm up to Week 8 now and finding it much simpler and less stressful. Amazing to be running for 28 minutes remembering how 3 minutes seemed like a lot only a couple of months ago!
