After completing the programme last Sunday, I’ve managed to stay on my goal of continuing to run 3 times a week. Despite the clocks going firward and it being Mother’s Day!
I’m continuing to run 30 mins, but trying increase my pace and distance. Haven’t quite got to 5K yet. 4.2 this morning. So far I’d only done runs on fairly flat terrain, so this morning decided to challenge myself to a hilly one. It was tough! Apparently, according to run keeper, I reached an elevation of 163’ But great running down the other side! And I’m still alive! I think I’m starting off too fast, but find it difficult to find a slower rhythm. Anyone have any tips?

Well done for getting your first hill run in, I like a gentle run down a slop but I’m not good with running downhill. Slowing down is quite hard you just have to keep checking yourself and consciously take the pace down, it took me Years to get different paces, I always used to run at bat out of hell pace 😀😳.
Thank you. It is difficult.. and it’s not like Mo Farrah has anything to worry about with my speed!😂 I’ll keep trying to pace myself.... I may not have years to perfect it!! Old already 😂
You could try some music to help you stick to a pace like those from audio fuel or podrunner - I use the term music very loosely, it's pretty dire but occasional use for me has help regulate (and over time up) my pace.
The C25K+ podcasts use audio fuel music and the stepping stone and stamina ones help you pace yourself over a 30ish minute run if you wanted to try it out. I think how useful they are depends on your current pace though.
However you're out there and you're trying stuff out including hills so you're sure to find your own groove soon enough 😊.
