So I have completed 3 consolidation runs since graduating. I'm gobsmacked, flabbergasted but most of proud of my continuation with this.
My 3 consolidation runs : So I have completed... - Couch to 5K
My 3 consolidation runs
Excellent!Well done .
It's about building the mental habit as well as the physical at this stage and it's said that a new regime can take around 12 weeks to become habit, so 9 weeks on the program and 3 weeks consolidation (approx)
Then mind and body should both be good to go .
Great work 👍
Well done!
Same again next week please - and have a think about where you want to go with your running
That’s a great week of runs. Are you doing it all indoors or is that just what your tech says by default? I always struggle on a treadmill and admire people who can manage more than ten minutes!
Looks like you’re getting into a great habit of running regularly.
I run on a treadmill at home over looking my amazing garden. One day I will get over my fear of running outside.
That sounds like a treadmill I could get on with! All my treadmill experiences have been at gyms which definitely aren’t as nice as a beautiful garden view.
I'm a committed treadmill user and have been using them ever since starting C25K, 7 years ago (did the whole program on it). Over that 7 years, I've done about 30% of my runs indoors. What are fears re: outside?
I have very mobile ankles that are at risk of breaking (thankfully only once so far), also I have vasovagal episodes (so basically I can pass out at anytime) so I like the security of my own home.
I'm not surprised! You're doing great so far and I'm glad to see another happy treadmill user, making it work for you.
I also look out over my lovely garden and watch the cheeky birds and squirrels watching me. The treadmill is also more gentle on joints and I can control the speed so that I don't try to speed 😆
I *love* the control that treadmills give - I'm a scientist, and also a numbers guy, so the concept of doing the *exact* same run over a long period and comparing, appeals to me a lot!
And yes, I'm appreciating the gentleness , having a rather irritable left knee currently.
I hear ya re the numbers game. I think as well (touch wood) it's meant that I have had no injuries and it doesn't aggravate my spinal tumors (benign). Plus I do loads of miles outside walking and on the days I work from home I can just hop on it and run. So many bonuses 😆.
That’s fantastic! Well done! I am on run two after getting to week 9 run 1 6 months ago! Did my back in now am fighting fit again and back to it. It’s like coming out of hibernation! Keep running
Hi yet again, you keep asking yourself? Don’t you know in your head,(what it’s you,sod everything else and endorse it. Your mind, your body and no where you are now.keep it going.,im now pushing for over 80 thats my goal
