After completing my second week of C25k and loving it, yesterday I broke my toe and was told by doc no running for 5-6 weeks which is the single worst thing about it.
I guess it will be back to the start again but at least I have proved I can run which makes me feel great.
Keep going everyone and looking forward to being back !

Oh no, that’s rubbish timing (as if breaking your toe isn’t bad enough) are you allowed to walk so you can keep your 30 minutes x 3 per week routine? That may make it easier to start up again when ready.
The Injury Couch is different to the actual couch. When your toe lets you start doing some Pilates and core strengthening exercise that will help you when you are fully ready to get back on the programme. I also spend a lot of time reading different articles on running - anything to make it easier 🤣Hope you are not in too much pain x
Ouch. While that heals there’s plenty of exercises that you can do... there’s even armchair routines out there that you can give a go if you can’t stand. The more you can keep that fitness up the easier your comeback run.
Oh you poor thing. As others have said there are other things you can do that'll help you when you restart. And there’s lots of interesting reading on running you could do. If you check out IannodaTruffe’s posts he’s put lots of Running World and other articles into interesting posts he’s done including a great FAQ. If you haven’t heard any of Dr Rangan Chatterjee podcasts he covers a range of getting healthier topics with interviews with really interesting people. Here’s to a speedy recovery!
Oh MimiF that’s such a shame but if you have to go back to the start you’ll know what you’re doing! I’m sure IanodaTruffe has put some leg/knee exercises on one of his posts and a lot of them can be done sitting down - it would at least mean your legs don’t feel like jelly when you do start again! Hope the recovery goes well, let us know how you get on!
