Well- Race for life pretty muddy 5k signed up for AND convinced my sister to dig out her trainers, get on with this C25K challenge and join me!! I actually can’t believe it... me who has never run before and was certainly not planning any kind of race at the end of this challenge! It’s amazing what doors open up and adventures you create when you try something new! Feeling pretty psyched!! Not until September so got plenty of time to prep. And I will have graduated by then (whoop whoop in anticipation!) Bring it on! Is anyone else feeling that this running is benefitting you mentally as well as physically? I’m so glad I embarked on this. I feel like I have a whole new much more positive outlook even in the short space of 2 /3 weeks.
Happy running people x

I was an unfit couch potato 2 years ago when I started C25K. Now I’m doing 5K 3-4 times a week, I have lost 2 stone in weight, I’m happier and faster and fitter than I was in my 20’s and 30’s. Last night I did a 5K run in 27:07 and was thrilled 😁.
Fantastic! Yes I’m definitely feeling the mental benefits and my daughter has commented on how much happier I am.
Today I found out the info for the Miles for MIND challenge in May and will be signing up later. It’s something close to my heart as my daughter has been struggling with her mental health for some time now and I’m happy to be able to do something to give back for all the support she, and many others, have received 😊
💯 I started week 7 today and got almost tearful as I was on my last few minutes, running was the one thing I’d always say I couldn’t do. Today I ran for 25 mins non stop I think actually running it was 2.5 mile my confidence is getting up there. I suffer with anxiety so burning that energy in a positive way is helping me sleep. I’m also starting to think if I always thought I couldn’t do this, I’m proving myself wrong maybe I’m capable of more than I ever thought. Good luck with the rest of the plan it sounds like you’re going to ace this!!
Great, running or any exercise is good for the mind as well as the body. People have been telling us that for years , it's just getting out and realising it's so true 😊😚
Today I ran 10k for the first time and it felt brilliant. Just over 6 months ago I hadn't run more than 50 metres in more years than I care to remember. This programme has been so good. I am loving being out there jogging along. It also got me back on the rowing machine in between run days and that has led me to actually row again as well. Why the heck did I leave it so long?????
