After a 2week Gap??

On the 2nd March I ran my 1st ever park run. I was elated!! I’d only just finished week 6 so not only did I run a full 5km, but I did it non stop in 35mins. My longest continuous run ever.

Then a disgusting head cold struck and I was forced to take a weeks break.

But this past week has been mega busy. Between my full time job, my husbands part time shifts and a 2 year old I’ve not been able to get out at all 😢

So my question is, should I go back to week 6, run 2? Or try to do week 7, run 1???

Can’t tell you how much I’ve missed it, or how anxious I am about getting out again 🤦‍♀️

You should be able to go out and run wk7 as you shouldn't lose any fitness in 2 weeks as I have read on here previously 😊

As Buddy34 says, you won't lose significant condition in two weeks.

Do take care not to do too much too soon.

We recommend that if you are mid programme and want to do parkrun, that you stick to your programmed run, just to avoid overdoing it. You may be capable of doing more than your body is conditioned to do, therefore increasing your injury risk.

Take care.
