Need to kick start my running programme again!

I got back from holiday in Sept 18 and decided to do something about my weight, I went on a diet and started C25k. By Christmas I completed the 9 weeks and felt fab!

Now it’s March, I have not run since Christmas and my weight has returned. I feel so disappointed in myself. Should I start the C25k from week 1 or perhaps week 3 ? Any motivational tips or ideas welcome.

There are no excuses for not getting out and running today as the sun is out and it’s Sunday. Come on!!

Strangely enough Sarsie I also was thinking of restarting C25K at week 3 as well as I haven't been doing much running during the cold winter weather, however I do go long walks a lot and sometimes do a little running as well, usually the runs from week 1 or 2, hence me thinking of starting at week 3, if I had not been doing any runs at all I would probably restart C25K at week 1.

Hi

I graduated in 2017 and ran quite a bit until winter darkness and work put me off, then I picked up again about 6 months later at week 5 and did fine, Ran 30 minutes 3 times a week or a monthor so but then we went on extended trips abroad and I haven’t run for ages. So a few weeks ago I started on week 1 - it was awful too many stop and starts so I tried week 2 - did 2 runs then followed the plan from week 3. Ihave just completed week 5 run 3 and feel great. It all depends on you. I would give week 2 ago if you haven’t done much since graduating. It’s amzing how you retain some fitness or a few months.

Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and it explains that if you have a break then you will need to reassess your ability and pick up the programme at an appropriate week

Don't rush it. You need to build your self back up again.

Enjoy your journey.
