It seems now that a 5 min walk not enough to warm up in W8. 1st 10 mins were sluggish hell. But then I stepped it up to a determined snail and found my groove halfway in. That happened in the last run too? Any tips? Felt a bit like the guy behind me by the end

Toxic ten...so well known and documented.. it may even be longer.. or not there at all. Sometime my warm ups are longer than the run
Well done you for keeping in there... and just relax... these longer runs, they are made for just starting slow and staying slow.... let the newly forming legs do what they know they have to...
Brilliant! Being new to running never heard of toxic ten but that makes sense! I’m learning so much
Good Morning 😊. I had heard about toxic 5 and 10 , so from a week in jkI have deliberately done a 10 min warm up. Usually 5 mins of Dynamic Stretches and then the 5 min brisk walk. It works for me. However I had a jog the other day that I posted about and I just felt sluggish and heavy legged for the full 30 mins. So I've had a couple of days off and hoping that's done the trick. Sometimes I think we just have these sluggish runs no matter what we do. Might even give today a miss it's absolutely dreadful outside and I don't want to put myself off altogether by struggling thru "Gareth" who seems to have taken up residence in my part of Wales 💨💨💨💦💦💦
Toxic 10 , it happens to us all, and let me tell you, that's where most of the gremlins will get you 👿👹👺.
I find it helps me if I take really deep breaths during the warm up walk.😊
Thx all I’ll try a longer warm up on Monday and see if that helps.
Well done completing it.
I did week8 run1 today and it was a struggle from the start! If anything, the last few minutes seemed ok, but I was glad to return home 😳
I have to say, I've been doing longer warm-ups for some weeks now and these have made a real difference. But I still find the first few minutes hard... in fact it's all hard. But at least I seem to be recovering more quickly now.
