Hello! My son told me about this app and that i can actually use it to train myself to run. I have joined the gym for about 2 no the and doing really well. Doing 3-5 classes per wk and using some of the machines but the one thing I struggle with is running. I cannot run to save my life! Something that seems to be so simple is just impossible to achieve. I can't seem to being able to run for more than 2-3min. I get a sharp pain on the side and getting difficult to breathe. Need advise please to control my breathing whilest running. I'm 37 and 8st8 so I should be able to run!!!! Any tips are much appreciated. I'm the meantime I will start my journey to my 5k tomorrow .

Congratulations and welcome to the forum and C25K, no problem regarding your weight Lor3d4n4, the mantra slogan here is slow and steady, so take all the 9 weeks slowly and keep ridgidly to the program, no running on consecutive days, good 🤞 luck.

Hey welcome to the forum. Just stick to the program. In your days of running go out walking. You will be a mazwd how quick your breathing will come on. Good luck

Just follow the plan and you’ll be fine. Slow down and slow down again. I could barely manage one minute, now I’ve got to 15 miles in a year.

Hi congrats on beginning your running journey. I am the same as you... cannot run to save my life. At least I thought I couldn’t! Just completed week 1 and feel amazing. This time last week I’d just attempted the 1st run which I ended up walking the last 2 mini runs. After that I’ve done the other 2 runs plus an extra attempt for good measure and got through all of them alive! It’s only 60s at a time for the 1st runs and it flys by with a bit of music for distraction and for keeping a steady pace. The app is really useful. Like everyone else says - slow down! My walk is faster than my run at the minute but I’m sure I’ll pick up the pace as my stamina increases.

Good luck with your run. You will feel totally amazing afterwards. You’ve got this!
