Treadmill??

Hi it’s me again.

My next run is W8R3 and I really want to do and start W9 this week and maybe a park run on Sat? My problem is ...... the weather. My usual route involves quite a lump of sea front running and I know from experience (I only managed 20 mins of W8R2 in my first attempt because of the wind and had to re-do it) that the strong winds are an issue. The forecast this week is horrible wind-wise, but I don’t want to lose my momentum by not running. So I’m wondering whether to do a couple of non-member sessions on the treadmill at my local gym to make sure I don’t miss out. What do people think? I’ve kinda set next Sat’s Parkrun as my own personal challenge and don’t want to lose out.

It's worth doing, a run is a run, no matter what you run ON, but they're... Boring. There, I said it. Treadmills are boring as hell. Worth a go though, you might enjoy jt.

Thanks Jundal, I haven’t used one since my gym bunny days years and years ago and I seem to recall they are pretty dull. I’m also slightly worried about making a fool of myself if I can’t remember how to set up the damn thing. It’s funny, I was really self-conscious about running outside when I started c25k, but now that doesn’t phase me at all, but I’m feeling quite scared of the gym 🙄🙄. Trying to figure out when the quietest time would be. 😂

Do what I did, call them and ask! I had a lovely hour weight training after last time I went on a treadmill in an empty gym.

Do what’s right for you! It eouldn’t Be for me, but if the Park Run is your goal do the treadmill to meet it. Good Luck!

Last time I went out it was awful, however I appreciated it as I was helped up a hill by a following wind! 😂

I did my W8R3 yesterday, started off against a really strong wind and rain which was tough, my route then went into the trees and was behind me on the way home which ws great. I've never run on a treadmill and like you would be nervous about getting it wrong but i'm sure there would be staff there to help you out. Good luck whichever you decide to do. :)

I love treadmill running! If you can’t run outside due to weather then use a treadmill run as an opportunity to catch up on your favourite podcast or audiobook ☺️
