So I've been following great advice on here and using ice 3 times a day on my knee plus ibuprofen when needed. I can feel a definite improvement. How will I know when it's okay to run again and should I dive straight back in and complete w7 run 3 or should I try a shorter run first? Also is it a good idea to do stretching exercises before and after running or ice before and after running? As you've no doubt gathered I'm a complete novice and need all the advice I can get 😀

Knee is an awkward customer at times. A niggle could mean nothing and yet it could lead to injury. When no pain or discomfort try a short, slow run. Don’t push it, listen to your knee and your body because a knee pain can cause body rebalance which in effect can cause pain elsewhere - other leg, hip, ankle. It sounds as if you’re getting better which is great. If any doubt, if discomfort persists, if there’s any sharp pain anywhere around the knee, go a see a physio. Please don’t cover the issue with pain killers unless absolutely necessary.
I had a bad knee injury a while ago and with good advice from a physio, exercises and shoes from a gait analysis shop I’ve been knee injury free for over two years. You can do this!
Thanks. I'm hopeful 😀
Long story short, I’m a former injury champion. Knee, then ankle. From the very beginning, months after months on injury couch after each injury but they patched me up. Now when I’m doing my marathon training l sometimes think about it. Be patient, all injuries are fixable, you’ll be fine.
