As the guide to the plan says, stretch after every run.

Most of my aches disappeared by W5.

Rereading your post, it sounds like you have run on consecutive days.......... which might well explain your aching legs.

Rest days are as important as run days for a new runner.

This is all explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Take care.

Yeah I did d1 & d2 consecutively. I know I shouldn’t have, but it’s a bit addictive (in a masochistic way!)

Well done Joanna on completing Day 2 ! Are you stretching before and after runs and having rest days in between ? That will help you and give your legs time to rest...good luck with Day 3 🏃‍♀️

You really need those rest days and you've found out why , aches seem to go the further you progress good luck

You do really need to make sure that you have that 1 day break between runs so that your body has chance to recover. although you can do other exercise ( I walk my dog everyday anyway). I found after the first run, my legs were sore the next day (mostly felt it going up and down the stairs) but were fine the following day. The second run (3 days after my first) I felt sore for the first 1 minute run and then it eased off. Again a bit sore the following day but not quite as bad as after the first run and I found the third run (2 days after the second run) easier than the second run.

Not what you're looking for?
