Graduated?!

Hi everyone - hope you’re all well.

I started the c25k many months ago but damaged a muscle in my leg. Running was super painful and I had 12 physio sessions to help overcome the pain. I was running for about 20 mins prior to the injury but struggling.

As I couldn’t run I started doing a lot of HIIT classes, spent time on the cross trainer and did lots of weights.

Finally my leg felt well enough to run and I managed to do 5km in 28 mins with the first 5 mins walking fairly slowly. It felt pretty good and only hit about 80% heart rate. I will try to go faster next time.

So my main learning is that weights and other cardio can be the way forward for a while if you’re struggling. And stick with it however hard it gets!

All the best

Well done

To be pedantic, the graduation requirements are that you run three thirty minute runs.

Hey. I’m just looking into that treadmill. What are your thoughts?

It is the technogym skill run treadmill where you can do sleds and parachutes. It is amazing!

That is fast. I'm guessing you are rather younger and fitter than most of us on this forum! Well done. But it's about 3 x 30-minute runs, not doing 5K faster than that.

Not what you're looking for?
