Hello and great for wanting to start c25k. This plan trains your body week by week to get further and further each week it's the exact same with eating you have to train your mind that you just don't need the extra food it may take time but it can be done . Start by writing down what you eat each day and I mean everything then look at your list and see what you don't need . Be being careful what you eat and c25k you will see a difference in your body and it really boosts your mental wellbeing as well good luck😊😊
Hi ChloeRay - welcome to our happy family! You will find lots of friendly support and encouragement on here from lots of people who are battling with similar issues.
I'm a lot older than you but have always had body issues and struggles with controlling eating. For much of my life I haven't even bothered. Sadly, when you get into your 40s, things can start to spiral quickly and that's how I came across running and this forum.
I haven't got the answer to your questions. But I can tell you that running has made such a vast improvement to my shape, weight, state of mind and overall wellbeing that I can't recommend it highly enough. I wish I'd found it in my teens rather than at 43!
I wish you all the very best with your running - you will find that you are well looked-after here.
Fantastic advice from Buddy34 and Pianism, congratulations on starting C25K, you are one of the youngest here in the form, good luck for your runs, onwards and upwards to week 1.
Well done for starting this you will find a hell of a difference over this short period of time. Keep at it run slow and you will achieve the target.
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Eating only at regular meal times is a great help and if you feel like eating at other times, drink a glass of water instead.
There is a weight loss forum which can be searched for by clicking on the matrix of nine white dots on the top left of the page. They may be more appropriate for specific weight loss advice.
Enjoy your journey.
Welcome to our little community: you are going to fit right in. It's a lovely place.
I'm pleased that you want to live a more healthy lifestyle. Running, eating in moderation, drinking sufficient water - these are all great things. Enjoy your running... you will lose weight and tone up, but you'll need to stick with a calorie-controlled diet. Simpy running C25K is not sufficient.
One final thing: curvy is great. Just saying.
Sorry for the late reply to this.
I found stopping the binge eating was easier if the food I used wasn’t in the house... not sure with your age that you will have full control over that. The other thing I’ve used to get me through stresses and other life issues is meditation... the headspace app is a really good introduction if you fancy trying it... I stopped smoking with it.
What you need to think about is how awesome you are... running C25K will help you see this. You’ll also have the opportunity to see other runners who don’t, currently, look all athletic. While running isn’t a weight loss activity as such, it does tone you up, and it sounds to me that this will give you more confidence. Also you’ll get to a point where you’ll most likely start thinking about what you eat to help the runs... there’s plenty of nutritious filling foods out there.
Well done starting this plan, I’ve replied to your second run I think it was. You can meet all you goals... this plan will help you see just what you can do... keep getting to those start lines and you will run 30 minutes... maybe you’ll go on to run much further.
Until you show yourself just how amazing you are, go easy on yourself, relax and enjoy your journey.
Heyy, I’m 16 too. I’m trying to do the same things because lately I’ve gained a lot of weight and have been non stop binging. And I’ve found talking to people on here has helped me ALOT. So I can’t wait to see your progress!
