Mentally Positive for first time in Years

Here goes.... like a lot of people I have suffered with depression for a long time. The beginning of February is an especially hard time for me as in 2000 I lost my beautiful daughter when she was 8 years old and it would have been her birthday 27 on the 7th Feb.I have struggled a lot of the time to deal with this, I’ve carried on working and living but not in a happy place, just surviving really. I’d already lost my dad when I was 15 and my mum passed 4 years ago. This made me spiral lower as my mum was my rock, always there for me. Doing the C25k has given me something to focus on and has really helped me feel better.Ive got up and got out instead of staying in bed hiding away or even drinking far too much to try and forget. I’m now drinking lots of water, eating healthy and the main thing feeling happier which all 3 of my other daughters have noticed, so thank you C25k and thank you to all you lovely people. Here’s to W6 R3 tomorrow ❤️

Oh MaddyNed, I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you have three daughters around who notice how you are feeling; and that you are feeling more positive. Such mountains you have had to climb. Well done x

So glad this is helping, and all four of your daughters will be so proud of you and happy for you. My husband is a recovered alcoholic and we know just how insidious and dangerous alcohol can become in times of mental pain and turmoil. Well done you for getting into running instead. It will make all the difference to your family. Stay strong and remember we’re always here for you xx

Oh Maddyned, I am so sorry, what a seriously tough time you’ve had. Well done you on just surviving each day but good on you for pushing yourself that bit further now to be achieving what you are every day.

It’s amazing what these changes can make and it’s great that you and your daughters are noticing the changes and feeling the benefits. Keep it up - you can do it! Good luck tomorrow

Wow that must be very hard but you sound incredibly brave and I’m pleased that this programme is helping you. Your daughters and you should be very proud of what you are doing.

Enjoy r3, take it slow and steady :-)

So happy to hear that you are finally happy. Its amazing how well C25K can shift the black clouds. As with all the best things in life if we’d known we have started much earlier. My little family are noticing changes in our lives too. Everyone’s a winner. 😍

It must be heartbreaking to lose a child - I'm so sorry! I'm also sorry you carry around the weight of depression - I can definitely relate to that. My heartfelt wish is that C25k and the health benefits it brings lift the burden, even if only a little. We're here for you.
