Hello all. As a 48 year old guy I have just done the first day of the first week ! Not much I know but a start.

I lost about two stone through dieting and have fancies the idea of some exercise but the idea of a gym doesn't excite me so I thought I'll give running a go. So new running shoes purchased and all my old shorts, sweatshirts and socks are poised for an airing.

I managed to complete the twenty minutes and covered 3.25 km which I'm really pleased with. Next session will be Monday.

Welcome on board. C25k can change your life and probably will. This forum will provide support and advice, should you need it and we will share your highs and lows because we have all been there. Good luck.

Keep running, keep posting.

Well done for getting out there, and welcome to the club! Sounds as though, like many of us here, that weight loss has given you the confidence and extra energy to kickstart a healthier lifestyle. Good luck.

"Not much I know but a start " ......don't do yourself down , that very first step out of the door on Week 1 can seem like the hardest. Well done , it seems like you've already achieved quite a lot already .

Good luck with the programme, you won't look back :)

Well done you, I started the programme when I was 73, now coming up to 75 and still running slowly 3 times a week. This is a great forum, do what Laura said and you will be graduated before you know it. Enjoy your running. Pat .:-)

Congratulations on taking that first step! :) Just remember with C25K, slowly slowly gets you there and it's all about the little wins - so no more 'it's not much I know'! Good luck and keep posting :)
