5km at last!

Graduated 5th November at Nottingham Poppy Run and tbh have found it a struggle to keep going

Have managed to get out for at least 1 Run a week and had a few goes on the treadmill at the gym - really don’t like that!!

Been hit by the cold from hell for the past fortnight but this week I did IT!!

I RAN 5 km for the 1st time

Really wasn’t sure how far / how long I’d run for when I left Home but completed 6.4km in total - including warm up and cool down

Now ALL(?) I need to do is get quicker!!

Well done for reaching the 5k milestone 🎉👏.

Don't worry about speed yet, just continue with nice slow and steady runs. As you get more miles on your legs, the runs will get easier (eventually) and the speed will pick up. Just enjoy the runs for what they are, with no pressure to be fast.

Think maybe it has 🏃‍♀️

A few dark weeks - literally and figuratively but was raring to go this week

Planning another run - against the flow of Christmas shoppers a little later today

Looking forward to finishing work for Christmas break and being able to get out in daylight too

Onwards and upwards - or perhaps that should be outside and forwards!!!

Christmas isn't always love, life and laughter for so many it can be a dark period BUT we have to try and fight it and as you say "outside and forward"

Well done! That must feel great. It is amazing how, little by little ,what seemed impossible just becomes what we do. I'm going to run w6r3 on Monday. 25 minutes!! I had SUCH a struggle to get going with this, I can't quite believe it's possible. But we're doing it. And I'm sure we'll get faster!

Yeah I was determined to do it but after missing several runs due to cold weather and having a cold I wasnt sure the time was right but after the 1st 10 mins it was just a case of keeping going left foot right foot left foot right foot ......

Just need to speed up now to do it in 30 mins !!
