I started this app with my cousin in mind, he died 3 weeks after his 60th birthday due to motor neurone, when I feel like giving in I think of him, and how lucky I am in my 59th year on the planet being able to do something he would have dearly loved to have been able to do. Anyway, I had to pull a new playlist together because my free Apple Music trial had ended. One of the tracks was if I Ever Leave This World Alive by Flogging Molly. It reminds me of him, so run one of week nine, wind and rain and for some reason one of those runs where it’s just hard. Anyway near the end of the run on comes the song, suddenly I’m laughing through tears and even sped up. Amazing what the mind can do along with those happy memories of my beloved cousin. It’s like he was running along

Thank you Granspeed he worked hard to improve his fitness and lose weight after a heart attack and was very fit working in a heavy job when he got this awful disease, misdiagnosed until 2 weeks before his death. He was as brave as a lion and spent private time with us all on the day he was dying knowing he was soon going to leave us. I did have a mad thought I’d do the great north run in his memory but I think it might be next year rather than this😊😊
