I’ll be doing W6R1 today and I wanted to know if any of you do any other exercises on your in between days, I’ve been wondering if I need to do more exercises to build leg muscle.
Yes, I do a fair amount of walking during the early part of the week (walking to and from the office). At the end of the week, when I have a different job, I rest up, which means I'm fresher for parkrun on Saturday. Sunday is either sofasurfing or hill walking.
Exercise on rest days is highly recommended, but not to build leg muscle. Gentle lower body work is good to keep the legs loose and aid recovery... anything high impact or intensity on the legs will not help. Joint strengthening work is well worth doing too, as is flexibility work (yoga etc). Core strength is also a big advantage. Also, as most of the work running is from the legs, it’s worth doing some strength work in the upper body... here I do go high intensity at times and that’s extra cardio.

I've found them to be very effective, hitting all my weak spots
