I’m currently on week 3, I’ve done 2 runs and the 3 minute run really pushes me, although I’ve completed the runs I’m really not sure I will manage the week 4 runs, should I try and if I fail repeat week 3 or not even go in to week 4 ??
Week 3 going into week 4 : I’m currently on week... - Couch to 5K
Week 3 going into week 4
I’m at week 6, and I struggled in the early days. Thought I’d never do it!
But what I’ve now learnt (and it’s taken ages- though I’m week 6 I started before Christmas and have had time out for Christmas and snow!) is that it’s all about slowing up! If you can’t do it, then you’re probably going too fast...but going slow and finding your pace is so hard!!
You’ll get there, keep at it!
You've successfully completed the runs. No one said it's easy😉
Doubts will always be there but I say follow it on to the next week and see how you do 👍😁
I made the mistake of keeping in week 1 when I first started a couple of years ago. Now I realise you jog slower if you feel your stamina is giving out. BUT don’t stop! Be kind to yourself! There’s no PE teacher watching you now! 😂. I’m on Wk5 now.
This is my 'n'th attempt at this program. I always made it through weeks 1-3 with little problem. Week 4 kicked me to the curb... so this time I split Weeks 4 and 5 into thirds and took three weeks to accomplish each week. Week 5 was easy to split as each day has a different run. I just ran Week5Day3 yesterday for the first time and made it 20 minutes. I will do this run two more times and looking ahead, knowing I can run 20 minutes straight will go back to a regular Week 6. After first two days of week 6 it's just working on stamina. At that point while I will shoot for 30 minutes I should be outside and will start mapping out mileage so I can say to myself... I ran "so many" miles today. Hope it helps. Don't give up. Personalize your program so you can make it to the 5K.
Read this, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which was written for doubters.
You don't fail anything if you do not complete a run, you just have found the level that you need to work at, not some earlier week that you are comfortable with.
Running is about self belief.........otherwise how do you think anyone completes a 100 mile race or even a marathon.
If you believe you can, then you might. If you believe you can't, you won't.
And trust what the program tells you to do.... it does work. Honest!😉 And, if it doesn’t work first time for any reason, then that just makes it a practice run. No problem. Good luck . 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
