Week 1, Run 1

I am terrified of running. I've tried before and failed: I've had shin splints, I've been too scared to leave the treadmill, I've been embarrassed. But last night, I took my running clothes to work and at 5pm, I got changed and went out in the freezing cold rain and completed Run 1. I feel elated! I found that my breathing was a lot more controlled than I expected, it was more aching legs that were the problem but I'm excited for Run 2 tomorrow!

Great job. Especially well done getting out there and conquering the embarrassment demons... that takes some mental strength and so does running... so you’re gonna be just fine! You can do this. Some aches are going to come... your legs need to get those muscles built and conditioned. Have a great run 2 and journey beyond.

Well done! This is my second attempt after an injury stopped me (I thought it was recently... but it was actually 2 years ago). Im about to start week 2 after a very very slow week 1 with loads of stretching exercises and strength exercises to stop myself from getting injured this time. Keep going and posting... You are brilliant for doing this again!
