Pretty??

That’s w3r3 done. -2 and it was pretty fresh. A pretty sunrise but still not convinced my run is pretty. My feet go down so heavy with a thud....please tell me technique and style come with time. On the plus side I am definitely running though so does it matter.

Gorgeous.. well done you !

It is hard at the start.. we do tend to thump down a little... maybe concentration on everything we are doing.

Try to focus on landing lightly... I call it, kissing the ground with your feet... sounds daft, but it works. Try to relax, your shoulders, arms and your hands and face. It is a lot to think about, but it does become second nature.

When I am on my runs, I do take time still to focus on a particular element of my running style... it helps:)

You will get there... :)

Thanks oldfloss. I have realised this week I can hold my head high and breathe in the lovely fresh air instead of doing the entire run with my chin on my chest like I’m in the final stages of labour lol!

At first I think just getting out is enough! Just look at the beautiful rewards! It certainly is pretty, your style will come don’t worry 😉

Lovely photo, regarding the thudding feet, I don't know, I think I probably do the same 😊

Thankyou, I’m going to try kissing the ground next time 😊

I like to think about ‘kissing the ground’ with my feet, also springing ‘up’ rather than landing down. Then there is the landing midsole, taking shorter steps, keeping feet under the body to think about. It all seems to help keep the footfall lighter... I am conscious of trying to minimise the impact on my knees so getting into the rhythm of landing lightly, along with breathing, are the two things I mainly focus on... gorgeous pic 🙂

Hi, I do the thudding too, I didn’t realise until the gap in my music and I heard myself pounding along!! Someone posted a link on here to slow running and using small steps etc, the man in the video says about trying not to land with flat feet. I can’t remember where I saw it but it’s really useful. Maybe someone else can help with where to find it?

Look up Slow Jogging on YouTube- there's a video done by a Japanese chap that really helped me think about running lightly on my feet.

It does get easier!
