well guys it's been a little while since I posted on here but I got a little prompt this evening so thought I better report home and try and offer a few words of encouragement/advice
This is one of my little things but something that makes a BIG difference.
It was I think w5 with the 10 minute runs and on the 2nd run I had to walk for maybe 15 seconds, that night I came on the c25k forum and read a post from a member who had "discovered" sustainable pace.
What is sustainable pace
It really is very simple it's a pace that you can maintain for a required period of time so if you are struggling to run for a set period of time but can't your probably running to fast so you just need to slow it down.
Sounds so very simple but that's because it is and guess what it works.
Out for my very next run I slowed it down (to achieve sustainable pace) and guess what I went straight through with no problem, sustainable pace so very simple and so effective
So slow it down people don't be worrying pace/speed that can come later, for now it's about running for the time required.
Just a final little word warning, this running malarky is just a tad addictive!

I love that sustainable, slow pace, it leads to lovely runs. On other days, I like to push a little harder and feel the effort. After 9 weeks of running I still feel like a learner driver, crunching the gears and often getting it wrong!
Hey rolysmate , we miss you on here, well, I do anyway!!! You always have such wise words to say and you have kept me going with your messages of encouragement and general concern....you're an inspiration whos stories we need to hear xx.....and if you're describing yourself as pot bellied then in my eyes you're the pot bellied pocket rocket xx
Really helpful advice as I am in W4 and whilst I managed my run today I think I did run too fast in sections. Classic tale of the hare and tortoise then!
