tried my hardest today!!

I wasn't feeling the love this week - I went out on W7 R1 on Sunday and was slower than the week before - I was cold, without my fitbit and without my gloves - dodging dogs and puddles on the towpath. I found excuses on Monday ( rest day) and Tuesday ( Oh dear it's started raining) but today was bright and sunny. I had volunteered to take a friend to hospital for the 3rd of his 30 radiotherapy sessions. Lots of waiting around with sick people. I came home a bit ashamed that I have my health but was being a wimp. SO I got straight out. It was cold but sunny - no Sunday dog walkers and the puddles were icy so not too muddy. I managed a couple of personal bests so i was pleased with my efforts. Best estimated 5k effort (37:57) according to my new friend Strava. pace was 7:34 ( km) which is the best I have done so far. getting there!!

Isn’t it funny? It’s the runs where I went out with the least expectation... maybe I was tired, unwell, or a bit stressed... thinking ‘ok, I’ll just start and stop when I need to’, when I set PBs.

Waiting in a hospital is sobering. I think most of us need reminders now and then of how fortunate we are to be able to tie our own laces and step out the door.

Well done mafee 😊

I was nearly going to stop at one point and then not clock it as a run - but somehow got past the block! I HAVE to catch you up!!

Congratulations on the PB. And kudos for being there for your friend at a tough time... let’s hope the treatment is successful.

Ah thanks - just grateful I am able to do it - shares the load for the family a bit. It was my good deed for the day!
