Starting again

I started this last year but had to stop, I was doing Cambridge VLC and just wasn't getting the calories to sustain running. Then life got in the way, (nervous breakdown, relationship ending near-homelessness) and I had to give up the Cambridge. Since then I've put back most of the weight that I lost and it's time to take control again. Failed Wk1 run1 in that I didn't run all the runs, but I didn't stop moving. Repeated Wk1 Run1 more slowly and completed it all. Any encouragement gratefully received!

So sorry you have had such a tough year. It is a very fine balance getting the calories right when training for the bigger runs, in essence it is probably better not to try and lose weight at the same time, most people think marathon training means eating what you want and losing weight. I train for HM’s and from January to May I put my weight loss on hold and aim to fuel and replenish my body after the long runs. At least you are coming into this knowing you can get through the program so relax and enjoy your runs and good luck.

Sorry to learn that you had a nervous breakdown last year but glad that you have started again with week 1 of C25K.

I wish you all the best for your running until you graduate with W9R3. 😉 🎓

Welcome back... you can do this... running will increase the fat burning and next to a good nutrition plan you can lose that weight again in a more sustainable way. Enjoy your journey.

You have had a really tough year, but well done for getting the motivation to start C25K again. This will be good for the mind and the body. Remember that this course is about running for duration, not speed or even distance, so keep it nice and slow and you will succeed. Keep posting about your progress - we’ll be cheering you on. Hope you enjoy this amazing journey you’re about to restart!
