Ok so today’s the day I started couch to 5k ok maybe I started this journey back in the summer but wasn’t committed to this yet. New year came round and oh shit now you have to really do something you have one of your best friends wedding to go to (who you weee not consider to be a bridesmaid for but you have know her since you were 8 but that doesn’t matter but the other friend dose get made bridesmaids not bitter) so you are trying to look fab and chuck it in there face. You also comit your self to a 5k that you eat to do in under 45 minuets so you really need to learn to run. So thus opens chapter 1 of getting fit to 5k (we hope)

Welcome along ! This is a great way to get fitter but not a weight loss programme, so if that’s a particular target, you may want to look at a healthy eating plan too. Take it slow and steady and enjoy your journey x

Welcome. There’s a statement of intent... I love it! You can do this and you’ll be so strong at the other end of this journey... feeling better, and happier with what you see in that mirror. Don’t worry about that false start in the summer... you’re here now... this is your start line. It’s going to be an incredible journey... you’ll come to the start lines for each run and sometimes you’ll amaze yourself... other times it will be damn hard, it’ll suck, you’ll question why you are doing it. Both of those experiences will be great... they both make you fitter, stronger, healthier and a better runner... the one that sucks also makes you mentally stronger, so never hate that run, embrace it, love it, and look forward to the next one!

Run nice and slowly... there’s no race here and slower running will deliver the benefits sooner. Trust the plan... believe in yourself... relax and run.

You’ll run for 30 minutes in a couple of months... for most of us 5k is the next goal... 5k in 45 minutes? Yes, you can do that pretty soon... just keep starting those runs and it will come.

You’ll show those that have doubted you... but even more importantly you’ll show yourself just how awesome you really are. Enjoy this journey.

This is the start of an amazing journey. It’s not easy, but it works if you take it slow and steady. Think snail pace 🐌🐌🐌

Welcome to this amazing forum and the amazing C25k programme. I was in a very similar place to you (I wouldn't make much of a bridesmaid though as a middle-aged bloke!) and I can tell you that the difference it will make to your life and your physical and mental health is nothing short of astonishing.

I wish you all the very best - take it slow and steady and just get through the first week and you will never look back. And keep us updated on how you get on! :)

Hi there 👋. Yes it really can be a new chapter for you, providing you stick with it 💪. This programme is so amazing, it really is If you go very slowly - as per all the sage advice - you”ll nail these sessions. Slow and steady really does work

Combining the programme with healthy eating and drinking, being more active in general, will pay off. Try and walk more. That’s a great calorie burner and gets you where you wanna go 😃

Take each run as it comes. Tick it off and get ready for the next one. No hurry at all, no pressure, no need to push

Have fun 💪👍😃🏃‍♀️
