Week 2 Run 1 -Sore Calf

Just completed Week 2 Run 1 and surprisingly found it easier than week 1 in the sense that not stopping and starting as often was more comfortable.

However, prior to starting my left calf hurt a little and now it is hurting a lot. How can I make this feel better and how long should I rest? My next run is scheduled for Tuesday and I really don’t want to miss it.

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

If it is still sore on Tuesday I wouldn’t run as you might make it worse and then have to miss a lot more runs.

Ice pack and raised leg might help a little.

Thank you, I will try that, I’m dissappointed as I coped well with the run and am really committed to the programme

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes links to stretches which I recommend after every run.

Enjoy your journey.
