W8R1 and first parkrun woooo

I found w7r3 really hard and seem to not quite believe that I can up it to the next bit every single time the time increases, but decided to do my first ever parkrun with w8r1 thinking I would run for the 28 mins and walk the rest....Well I can't quite believe it but I ran the whole thing and did it in 37 mins or so (although the start was slow as so many people so maybe running took a min to get going) ! Can't tell you how epic that is for a 52 year old overweight non runner (although Laura now says I am a runner now, and I think, maybe, just maybe, I am starting to believe her). Think that is the longest I have ever run....even in my 20s!

My husband came along and ran near the front as he is much faster than me so I was on my own (even braver of me I thought!) but everyone was super encouraging and friendly and it was great!

So proud of myself I felt a little teary!

Thanks Emine33. The plan really is good, and seems to challenge enough without it being totally unachievable so good luck with your journey too
