Iβm so proud, and loved every minute. There were some killer hills which slowed my pace down a bit - but I kept running and completed it in 41.30! πββοΈπ π
Weβd scoped the course out in the week and knew it was hilly, but weβd missed a section out, and that bit had a short but STEEP hill back onto the main course. π³ It took me by surprise, and I was running slower than some of the walkers! π But I didnβt walk and Iβll be prepared next time! πͺπ»
My daughter sadly had to pull out after a short time as her knee was playing up. Sheβs going to get it checked out, and she was very disappointed not to continue. Wise decision though and she knows that. β€οΈ
Canβt do next weekend, but 2 weeks today Iβll be back out there! Iβm a total addict!! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Hope everyoneβs had/will have great runs this weekend! πββοΈβ€οΈπββοΈβ€οΈ

Well done cheeky ...great feeling isnt it ..hope your daughter is ok and nothing serious ...fabulous run for you ..take care.. happy running πππππ
Thanks UNM! Sheβs cross because she tried out some different trainers this week, thinking theyβd be better to run in - clearly not. Sheβs very lean and fit, so they obviously didnβt suit her running style as her old ones caused her no issues. π
Awwww thank you Hotheels! Itβs such an amazing feeling of achievement, especially struggling with the 1 minute runs of W1 less than 3 months ago! ππ
Are you tempted to give parkrun a go? Itβs the best and I canβt wait for 2 weeks time! πππ
I have thought about it.....but need to get a few more 5k runs under my belt before I feel I can at least try to join a park run.....hopefully won't be too long!ππ
Well done. Iβm so glad you enjoyed it, sorry to hear of your daughters knee problem and pulling out was the best thing to do. So even more congratulations to yourself as you carried on beat those nasty hills and finished it excellent. Thatβs it now youβre hooked like the rest of us Saturday morning parkrun addicts ππ
Yes itβs funny how them mountains seem to loose their threat. I was going to say turn into molehills but thatβs wishful thinking. Had a good parkrun myself today shaved anothe 59 seconds off my PB with a quite amazing time of 28.54 which was a surprise asI thought I had reached my limit being 1min30 slower last week than this. Oh well just goes to show I know nothing about running. π
Iβve thought of nothing else since my parkrun. Canβt wait to get back out βtrainingβ again! Happy that this 5k was quicker than my first one just over a week ago, even with the hills! Iβm ready to tackle them! πͺπ»πββοΈ
Thanks. Iβm glad you improved your 5k time πit just shows how far weβve all come from week1 C25K and now aiming to go that little bit extra each time we run. I think I just need to do some runs just for the hell of it no time and no distance but Iβm not sure Iβll get a chance for a few weeks Iβm trying to build up to the Rother 10k this month and itβs really hilly. Perhaps after that I Can do that occasionally π
Hi pianoteacher thanks. Wow a few more yards and he would have had me I was dead on my feet, I gave my last ounce in the last 200mtrs. he can get me next timeπ
You must be so proud!!! How about that? You DID it all the way. Honestly well done! It's the hills that scare me too but not stopping? You are a goddess!
Hahaha, thanks so much Mayanow! I just need to learn how to maintain a consistent pace up hills, not slow to slower than people walking up them! π πββοΈπͺπ»
Aww thanks! Lovely encouragement there! β€οΈ Yes my daughter (and my whole family) are really proud of me. Mum who used to hate running with a passion! π
Hey thanks Crawlhome! I really did enjoy it, even with the unexpected curveball of a hill! Trust us for not scoping it out accurately!
Anyway, back for more the weekend after next and I canβt wait! Bet youβve missed running, but hopefully you had a blast at the music festival! πΆπΆππ
Thanks Cracker12 and Oldgirlruns - it was a year ago though! I still remember the day fondly, and Iβve only missed a handful of parkruns since, I love it! π
