Week 2

So that’s week 2 complete after a delay in starting it which I thought might set me back. Tough last run last night in the bitter cold and it snowed for the last ten minutes, the people I passed must have thought I was crazy. Bring on week 3.

Hi there. I started back in November and was lucky with a mild start to the winter. But I read up on running in the cold and it can be extra tough especially for us beginners. I’ve bought a thin (bamboo cloth) snood (a tube thing) so I can breath through it in the very cold. At the start of this course you’re building up stamina and lung capacity, so taking in very cold air can make running very hard. So well blooming done for sticking at it. But have you got a thin scarf or something you can use during this very cold weather?

Best of luck!

Hi there, I actually like the fact it’s cold when I’m running but didn’t realise breathing in cold air could make it harder, as if I needed anything else to make it more difficult 😆. Thanks for the tip I’ve got a snood so I’ll try that.

Well done you! Feeling jealous as I have had to stop c25k after just w1r3. Got a really painful knee and it's now 12 days after my last run and going for x-ray tomorrow. Good luck for w3 and keep going, hopefully I will be back at some time to start all over again
