Do you start from after the five minutes brisk walk? I map my distance with the Fitbit app and it tells me my pace but I start and finish it from my front door. Should I start from the end of the warm up to get my running pace?
When you time your run.....: Do you start from... - Couch to 5K
When you time your run.....

Personally I start my tracker which gives me a 3-2-1 countdown at the end of my warmup, and it pauses itself when I hit my goal for the day if I go on a timed guided run.

I use a Fitbit Surge & have just started tracking only when I'm running. When I was doing c25k I was tracking door to door but since graduating, without Laura telling me when to stop, I was struggling to know what I was up to (I don't wear my glasses when I'm running & so can't read the screen!). Now I use the km vibrations on my tracker to monitor distance. Tracking just the runs is definitely helping me to monitor my pace better! Happy running ๐
Yeah that's what I was thinking! My Fitbit tells me the time spent and distance every half mile. But I don't use it at same time as C25K. But I've noticed I am going further than I used to despite taking the same time so my pace must be faster. However with the walking as part of the calculation it seems I am not much faster than if I was brisk walking! But I know this can't be true!

Not much difference in pace over the course of 30-40 minutes tbh. Thatโs what Iโve found anyway
True! And it's not much about speed but it would be useful to have a number now where I am still quite new at this so I can look back in a year's time and compare lol.

Just time the running bits..

I use the Nike Run Club app to track just the runs ๐
I downloaded that today to have a look at! I wish there was a way to track calories burned on a mixed route. Such as, my Fitbit app only lets you set as run, walk or hike but some tracks I like are a mixture!

Try Map my Run app by Under Armour...it's free. I start it as I leave the house and then write down the stats in my journal on my return! It's amazing in 4 weeks how you do improve.

I time the lot, but I only started timing at all once I was past the interval runs. Thereโs not much difference between my walking and running paces anyway, and Iโm interested in seeing what I accomplish in the session, not just the run.

I'm on WK6 ๐ 3 next and at about 3 this morning ๐ก I woke with the thought that I can delay map my whatever ๐ฒ by up to 5 mins . So on my first full 25 min shuffle ๐ฃI can have accurate stats ๐
It's only taken me 17 sessions to realise that! ๐

I use strava and find that itโs best to ignore the warm up 5 minutes- Iโm trying to get to the 5km in 30 and find it easier to track to the 6 minute a km pace that way.
