I downloaded strava yesterday in preparation for my first run of week seven. So this morning it goes like this... put reading glasses on so I can see the minuscule screen of my iphone 5, put my wireless headphones on, get my C25K app up, playlist and strava, struggle getting my phone holder onto my arm, set strava away. Leave house with reading glasses on. Back into house to take off reading glasses. Sarah tells me I’ve done my five minute warm up.....erm no I haven’t . Reading glasses back on to peer at C25K app and resume it struggle to get phone holder back on arm.... At last off I go sans reading glasses . I’ll draw a veil over the rest suffice to say my play list went off 5 minutes before the end of my run so instead of the anthems I was expecting all I could hear was my own less than inspiring huffing and puffing at least I did it and the next one will be better won’t it?

We call it faffage on here. It’s rampant. It afflicts us all - some more than others - mentioning no names 😘 😁
The sessions are far easier than the tech i’m Happy to say Always be slow. Slow and steady is lovely 😃👍
I can’t say the faffage gets any better 🙈
😂😂😂 it's the shortsightedness that does my head in....interferes with my faffage 😂😂
I have to run in my glasses otherwise there would be a disaster! I have been known to take them off on very rainy days but it’s a last resort! Varifocals though, so multi-use!! Wow, I suddenly feel so old... 😂😂
Ha ha running in varifocals is a talent on its own and age is an attitude 😊😊
It will! I did a similar thing the other day with a new playlist - and the sound of my own huffing has most unpleasant! I now check the length and add a couple of more tracks to the end - just to be sure!
Of course it will!!! With all your Pre-run prep today the next run will be a doddle...
I start Strava and then stay very still while I organise C25k - it means the stats are out by a minute or two, but that means I’m actually going a little faster than I think, and that’s good 😄
I'm thinking of starting it when I actually start my runs now I'm no longer on intervals because otherwise it includes 10 minutes walking time.... not that my so called runs are much faster 😂🙄🙄
I don’t mind about including the walking times. My running is genuinely about the same speed as my brisk walk so it’s good to know what I manage during the full podcast.
That made me laugh Micey 😂. Faffage indeed! My faffage is normally dog centred. It’s 5 mins to the beach path where he normally goes to the loo and there’s a bin so that’s my warm up walk but I often have to pause C25k app while I wait for him to go to the loo otherwise he will instantly go on the beach when I hAve started running and I end up trying to jog on the spot trying to pick up after him 🙄. Then I have the joy of running with the poo bag and then trekking across the super sandy bit of the beach to the bin.
If I am really lucky he’ll eat something disgusting en route too so I end up shouting at him to LEAVE IT! It does let me prove I can run at a ‘conversational pace’.
He’s also lost me on a couple of occasions...
Overall though he’s my awesome running buddy 😆
Delighted to have learnt that I’m not the only one to mess about with stuff - and even more pleased to know the word “faffage@ to describe it - perfect!
Your dog story is so familiar Sophia! I have 2 dogs and also usually run on the beach - so double the faffage! I’ve given up being optimistic that they’ll let me get on with it .... so i now give them 15 minutes of their own faffage before I even start the warm up!
Those arm band phone holder things are SO fiddly! Factor in gloves and they became well nigh impossible lol
