This time a year ago, I’d go into a gym and have a panic attack. This time I cried, but didn’t have one. Got on with my run and felt great 😁❤️

Well done you! I agree that gyms can be intimidating, it took a lot for me to pluck up the courage to run on the treadmill but I soon realised nobody was in the slightest bit interested in what I’m doing (although I’m still very conscious of people noticing my sweatpants creeping their way up my bum 😂😂) The feeling that you get after running a bit further each time is unbeatable though, so keep going!

That is brilliant Absrhia - I suffered from panic attacks in the past and they are horrible. You have great courage. Huge well done and keep going 😀

Well done you. I am familiar with that feeling. I am on week 9 and I still run on the sea wall as I don't want people to see me.

Fantastic! Go you! 💪

I never believed that exercise helped mental health until I did c25k. I really don't know how I would have managed this last year without running to save my sanity through panic and anxiety attacks, depression and everything else that came on in a tough year.

Please keep with it and you will reap the benefits! 😁

I have anxiety and have had panic attacks in the past. I know how frightening they can be. One of the reasons I like this programme is I can put on my headphones and plod along knowing I'm doing a good thing. Well done for sticking with it.

Hi there Absrhia,

Well done you and respect for your tenacity. Last year I felt continuously exhausted - I blame it on the type 2 diabetes before it was diagnosed. With couch25K I managed to get my blood glucose level way down back out of the type 2 range, which is my greatest success from exercise and diet. I also took to mediation and sleepfulness by using the Calm application. I found that has almost eliminated any anxiety or worry that I had had over the past year or so. It is free to try for a week. If you don't already do any mindfulness, try a download, to help sleep. I have also used it for meditation early morning or middle of day. It drives away any sleepy feelings I have. Like a bit of magic dust. :-)
