Wife has decided to try running 😯

Having done my wk9.1 run yesterday I was not intending to run today. So when the wife says she's put on weight since Christmas and wants to start C25K today and would do it if I came with her how could I refuse. So the first thing we had to do was see if she had any suitable footwear. Found a pair of old trainers which were ok for today but not perfect and of we went. She did really well and covered 3.7km on the run/walk inc. the 5 min warm up cool down. Not out of breath and no aches or pains just quite tired afterwards. She's gone out now to look for running shoes and intends running again on Tuesday. I enjoyed it myself too so roll on Tuesday

Oh, well done you setting the example and your wife for getting started!! I would love to see hubby going down the same path, we’ll see! Best of success to you in W9!!!

Thanks. I'm so so proud of her. She does a fair bit of walking but isn't at all sporty so it's a big step for her to have the confidence to make that first step. Hope she keeps it up

Being very sedentary myself it took me over 4 months to make up my mind and finally got out the door. So for sure, you have every reason to be proud of her. I hope you both graduate and enjoy many runs together!!!πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ƒ

Well done on your recruitment.

My wife joined up at about the same stage and being able to run together occasionally, is a great joy.

Be careful about running on your rest day, even at this stage.

Point your other half towards the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... as it is full of tips.

Well done for being so supportive. It might sound daft but it really does make a massive difference. And well done for getting so far yourself, almost there!

Thanks. I was shocked this morning when she started getting ready to go running. She said before Christmas that she wanted to try it but I wasn't sure if she would. She's just got in now with a nice new pair of running shoes and leggings!

This is literally a carbon copy of what happened to me I did the programme now on bridge to 10k and my wife has started up as well she's onto week 2 and getting right into it.

She was also in desperate need of new trainers.
