Post-grad consolidation: Run 9

I went out this evening for another post-grad consolidation run (for me that's either a Park Run or W9R3 again). I know that if I don't keep up the C25K routine of 3 runs a week it would be too easy to slip to 2, and then 1, and then none, so I am adopting a new winter régime of Saturday Park Run, then two runs in the week. I've been feeling a bit sluggish since Christmas, and I wasn't expecting great things of myself but actually, the whole run felt a little bit easier than last time. When I got home and checked my apps and my activity tracker I had done almost exactly the same time as the previous run but I'd stopped for a couple of minutes on the way home to chat to a dog walker and I'd stopped on the way round my route for at least 2 minutes to take off my jacket, tie it round my waist, untangle my earphones and blow my nose (does anyone else need to keep blowing their nose on a run???) so if I take that into account I've improved a little bit - and I'm taking that as a win! :-)

My nose does sometimes go into free flowing on a run... TMI? That’s what I wear long sleeves for... TMI!

Good plan on the running schedule... and I love when you don’t think it’s gonna be a great run but it is. Happy running.

Definitely a win Amerynthe. 👊 Good for you. 👍😀

And yes, a runny nostril (only ever one per run in my case!) is a common occurrence for me when it’s cold. Attractively, I’ve honed the swift single nostril blow technique when no-one’s around. 🙃 I wouldn’t do it in plain sight - I use my buff if that’s the case, which I suppose isn’t much better! But if I try to time it so I can do a proper blow, it’s so much more effective! If I see someone else doing it, it doesn’t gross me out as much as spitting. That’s something I’d never do! 😖😖😖

True! I could always not mention these things, but where’s the fun in that? 😅

I drench one cloth hankie per run! Keep mopping my nose as I run.

That's a win Amerynthe!

It's this cold weather that makes my nose run. I'm fine in the summer, but have now perfected the art of getting hankies out of my bum bag and blowing on the run!

Thanks everyone, so glad to see that I'm not the only snotty runner! I have resorted to the swift sleeve wipe when it's dark, and when I have a sleeveless/short-sleeved top on I've been tucking a tissue in the waistband on my leggings. Unfortunately, though, it has a tendency to work its way down to mid-thigh and I don't really want to be caught fishing down there for it mid-run. I think the bum-bag might be the way to go!
