Not run for a week

Not been able to go out for a week due to work and illness (not me family needing looking after). Should I do W9R1 tomorrow or just go for about 20 mins. I have had Achilles problems before when I have done too much after a break and don’t want it to flare up again.

Go out and try 9:1, but in a spirit of curiosity to see how you do, not in a pounding, all conquering manner. A week off can often bring you back stronger, so as long as you take it slow and steady you’ll nail it. Happy running 😀

A week shouldn’t take any fitness away... but what I’d do is dial up W9R1... and then forget about what run I was on. Don’t pressure it... it’s not a 30 minute run, it’s just a run... go slow and go until you either have nothing left or your coach says to stop. Keep it gentle and that Achilles shouldn’t be an issue... and stop when told to so you don’t over do it. I believe I know what the outcome will be, but it’s not about me, this is your journey... look back at where you were two or three months ago... look at you now... do we go 20 or 30?! Isn’t that amazing? At the start 3, 5 or 8 was impossible... now you’re thinking 20 is your fall back... that’s one heck of a progress. Go tomorrow, run, then decide which run it was... you’ve earned that right... have fun.
