Sadly, I've not been able to run for 11 days due to a variety of problems. First of all I got ill and my lungs weren't up to it, then I had an issue with my left knee for a few days and now sadly today, after a long walk in preparation for a run tomorrow, my ankle injury has flared up again, so probably won't be able to run for a good few days, if not longer.
I miss the buzz I get from running which I'm afraid walking does not replace. I'm also starting to think that once the gyms reopen I may have to go back to running on the treadmill as running outside does seem to put more stress on my body, particularly this ankle issue. I'm not going to stop running, but a combination of dodgy lungs, knee, ankle and my body fighting something off has done for me for a while. I did go for a fast two hour walk on Sunday after working all day and I was struggling to breathe at the beginning due to the illness I was fighting, but by the end of the walk I was actually moving at quite a pace and felt fine. I don't get my body at all.
I wish you all well and hope you're keeping fit and healthy in these difficult times, which are hopefully getting better, what with Trump gone and the vaccine imminent (hopefully!)...

Thanks Lucas. It's funny because during most of the building up to 30 mins my ankle injury behaved itself. I think it flared up once during all that time. Now it seems to be flaring up constantly. I'll have to try and manage it as best I can but there is no doubt that running outside is putting more strain on it and probably all my other joints. So frustrating. At least if I have to go back to the gym I know I can run 5K in half an hour!! You're doing great and are right to take it easy and look after yourself...
Make sure to take care of yourself Dodgylungs! Running will always be there for you to return to once your body is ready again. Plus you’ll always get support from this forum! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I think a combination of walking and strength exercises should help keep up your fitness in the meantime.
You’re right though, things are looking a little brighter than they did a couple of weeks back so at least there’s hope ✨
Thanks Laura. I appreciate your support, it's a little frustrating as I don't want all the hard work of the last 4 months to count for nothing. I'll be keeping watch on your progress and will use everybody on here as inspiration for my comeback when I'm able.
