New Year's Day outing

I have decided that 2019 is definitely a year where I put myself at the top of my priorities. I decided that I would register for a few virtual runs / walks in January and throughout 2019 so that I wouldn't get too comfortable on the sofa. This morning I went out for a 5km walk with first born and I decided that I would just try a gentle jog over 100 yards and.....my knee was fine, I was very pleased. I stopped running and carried on with the brisk walking; I then tried at various intervals a light jog and then a full on run and my knee held up. Whoo hooo, off we went alternating walking with jogging and running always aware of my left knee and listening in case it whinged. We completed just over 5km, called in to see my friend for a coffee & a much needed comfort break and then carried on with the return 5km to home. As first born was running out of energy at 6.5km, we decided to stop running and brisk walk home.

We arrived home having completing 11km in total. We are both feeling wonderful if a bit tired but it has given us the kick we both needed. Looking forward to Thursday's walk/jog and maybe run. :)

Happy New Year to you all x
