Runner’s Knee

Got to W8R1 and no complaints.

Did this run Xmas Day and was very impressed with myself running 28mins.

Woke up yesterday though with a sore right knee. It does feel better today as in not clicking or “crunching,” but decided against R2 and am currently eating my weight in Ferrero Rocher.

This is the first time I’ve missed a run. Since 5th Nov, I have ran alternate days and just hope, if not tomorrow, I can get back into it and not just lapse because I have now missed a day. Need to keep the motivation going.

You won't lose any fitness if you don't run for a few days. Don't beat yourself up you've done brilliantly to get this far. And weeks break wouldn't do any harm . Get that knee rested then get out there and smash it!

I guarantee missing a day like this is going to really help you.

Thanks everyone. Hoping to not lose momentum. Will see how it is tomorrow. Even if I decide to run and can’t manage it, it’s better than not going at all.

But at the same time, don’t want to knacker the knee out.

I shall see how I go. Might just do a mini run if I feel up to it. Unfortunately might have to be in the dark, but it is what it is...

I didn't run for 2 weeks due to nasty bug but I haven't missed a beat since and thought I would have to redo the previous week's runs. Rest is what you need now by the sounds of it.....good luck

I did the run. In fact I ran 30mins just for the sake of it, but It was the slowest I’ve ever run.

I could feel my knee, but it wasn’t agony and so I hope I haven’t done more harm than good. I properly cooked and stretched which I may have been guilty of not doing before.

And the sore knee came back after my silly 30min run when I shouldn’t have done it.

Going by my alternate days, I should have run today, but I didn’t and although my knee feels better, it’s not completely right and I have told my kids to pin me down if I suggest running tomorrow.

I want to as I don’t want to lose momentum, but an extra day’s rest will help and hopefully I can start again on Tuesday.

If I can’t, so be it. And if I have to go back a week or so, so be it, but I just don’t want to leave it so I have to start back at week 1 as I feel I have come so far since then!

Week 8, Run 3 might just have to wait a while.
