Slowly!

The longest you ran was 8 twice... so that’s 16... and that brisk walk in the middle counts... that’s 21 minutes that your legs did, your mind is the only bit that saw that as 8, or even 16.

Run 3 is a mental test... demonstrating to yourself that you can keep the pace down and also maybe dig deep to complete the run is very good for the confidence.

What the worst result possible if you don’t make 20 minutes? You’ll run in a single interval the longest you’ve ever run, probably the longest total you’ve ever run... so if you need a repeat at it you still have a victory and extra strength from it.

You can do this!

Take it slow and steady, I did run2 this morning and doing the 20 min Friday. I know I can do it as I trust the programme and so can you. Just go out and enjoy it, you can do it. Happy running 🏃‍♀️

Yes, the legs are important but it's the mind that controls the legs, and it is all in the mind. You can do it, and be amazed.

We all thought the same thing. Somehow the plan just works. Believe in yourself , once you can run 20 minutes the rest are small incrementals and before you know it you will be at 30 minutes.

Just put one foot in front of the other till they tell you to stop.

Relax and carry on.

This post explains why your thoughts about "that" run are wrong.... healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Agree with everything the others have said... Believe in yourself, take it slow and steady. Relax and don't overthink it.

Ignore the Gremlins.

Get some good tunes and just enjoy it 👍

You can do it! I had to attempt it twice before I was confident I could do it. The first time I had to stop at about 15 minutes and walk for a bit. But think! That 15 minutes was the longest I had ever done - and 5 weeks before that I could barely do 1 minute without thinking I was going to die!

Then I took my rest day. The next day I thought, "I am going to try again." And I did. AND I DID IT! When it was over I was jumping up and down in the park. Then I burst into tears. This 62 year old lady DID IT.

I just finished week 6 with a 25 minute run, and I did that one much more easily than the 20 minute. Because it is ALL ABOUT CONFIDENCE.

YOU CAN DO IT. And if you don't get it the first time, you'll get it the 2nd! Go you!
