W3R2 just completed. Must say I didn't think I would still be doing this. I don't know about anyone else but my runs finish shorter than W1?

Question. Will you get heavier on scales because your getting muscles r not?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

W3 sessions are shorter than W1 and 2.

Some people do claim to gain weight initially, although if you eat a sensible balanced and healthy diet you should not see any significant increase.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done on the running.

If you had stable weight and are eating the exact same diet as before the plan, you may see a few pounds go on. Also hydration, which you are hopefully good on now, isn’t generally so great if you were a couch potato like I was, and the extra hydration will add maybe a couple of kilos. The tape measure often shows inches lost even during the initial muscle build, so don’t just use the scales, measure and see the whole picture. Happy running.

I’m hoping to get time to do w3r2 today, but more likely tomorrow. I’m surprised to be enjoying it so much. I have lost weight but I am trying to be much more healthy with my eating at the same time. I have definitely changed shape though, I wore a pair of jeans yesterday that I haven’t worn in years.
