Hi, I just want to put out some encouragement out there for those starting off. When I posted about my first run I was seeing posts from those graduating, starting weeks 3-9 and thought there was no way on earth I could get to w2 let alone till the end of the programme, but I’ve struggled on. Tomorrow I am running w4r2! All of you starting out CAN do this if I can, I realised yesterday that I can manage to get to the end of week9 (forgive me if you see posts later on that I’m struggling, I won’t ever be giving up). I’m now looking forward to getting up between 4-5 am on run days (never been a morning person), getting my running gear on and getting out there. I’m 53, obese (working on that), never run in my life even got out of 90% of pe lessons from about the age of 9/10yrs.

Good luck everyone just starting out on the programme, trust it, take slow, then even slower and most of all enjoy each run 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Thanks, I just remembered how I felt on the first and second runs reading some doing week 3+, I’m now on one of the weeks I never thought I’d be even thinking about let alone in middle of it!! So thought I’d put it on here. Haha 🤣

Isn't it amazing what you body can do if you put your mind to it. Don't worry I think we all struggle now and again keep going and good luck 😊😊

Hi there, I relate very much to your post. I’m only a little ahead of you (week-wise) but still feel very much the same. I dive into the first run of each week and hope I surface, surprised each time that I survive!! Posts like yours have a ripple effect and you never know what help you could be giving. Well done on your progress, it’s brilliant! 🌈

And suddenly poof like magic you will be at week nine and you will not believe how you got there. I was the ultimate couch potato but the other day I ran 5k for the very first time having finished the programme about three weeks ago. Please never doubt you can do this anyone because this forum is proof that anyone can can change their life with a pair of running shoes and a big dose of determination xx

Well done, I’m actually looking forward to w5r3, I surprise myself every day. I’m starting w6 Christmas morning....set me in a good mood for the day! Never thought I’d ever say that. Not sure I’ll ever get to 5K but for me 30 mins 3-4 times a week is my aim, not distance 🏃‍♀️🤣🏃‍♀️🤣
