W7R2 - still slow, but faster recovery time

Although my 'running' (if you can call it that!) speed is still slow, I have noticed that my walking pace is faster, and my recovery time is better. The hill during my warm-up walk used to take 5 minutes, but now I'm already at least a third of the way down the other side before it's time to start running. I even have enough puff to say a friendly hello to the doggies that I pass during the run - although I have to say I usually only pass them if they are on a lead, tethered to a stationary owner! I know that speed isn't the goal here, it's about increasing my strength and endurance, and I can feel that happening, so all is good after tonight's outing. One more run of Week 7 (scheduled for Wednesday) and then on to Week 8 on Friday! Graduation by Christmas - what a present to myself that will be! :-)

I’m at the same run as you - still not covering the ground with effortless athletic strides. More of a ‘shuffle’! But definitely amazing compared with earlier weeks. I find the occasional gasped ‘hello’ a welcome distraction. I’m motivated by my dog, who runs back and forth the whole way - and at the end he looks at me as if to say ‘well, I’m warmed up now, when does the real running begin?’ sigh

Ah, but your dog has 4 legs. We humans only have 2! :-)
