Shorter but faster

So this morning my run was slightly faster but shorter - 24.51 min at 7.58/km. It's good to see the numbers changing as I I've been 9 something/km for a while. I wasn't aware of a faster pace but I'll try to slow down for the next one as I want to improve my distance rather than my speed. Disappointed not to make it to 30 mins this morning but I felt I didn't have it in me so stopped. Am kicking myself now that I didn't push through but at least I know that it was because I was slightly faster than usual so had run out of juice. I don't check my stats when I run, I like to just turn on my music and go then have a look at the numbers when I get home. Does anyone find it helps to check as you run, does it motivate you more to keep going?

At the moment, I have no way of checking stats during the run. My phone is zipped up in the belt pouch snug against my back.

Me too. Just curious as I read a post this morning about someone checking their stats at each km. Too much faff for me to do it I think.

I could set the tracking app to announce the pace every minute or km, but haven't got that turned on as I find it clashes with what Jo is telling me.
