How much fun are Zombie Runs??
I've had bit of lull these last few weeks which has surprised me because the Parkrun I did the week before last week was my best time ever!! Great splits, only a second or two difference between each km, and pretty constant from start to finish. But ever since then I've felt a bit deflated, and feel like I've hit bit of a brick wall. My run on Monday this week in complete contrast to my last Parkrun, was by far my slowest since finishing C25k, and I don't know if it's the weather, work, time of year or whatever, but just feel like I'm not really that bothered with the runs at the moment.
So, imagine my surprise when I stumble across Zombie Runs! Only tried one this morning (in the rain!) but OMG, how much fun!! I've tried intervals before and can't seem to get into them, but running from Zombies takes it to a whole new level. So much so I was even looking over my shoulder at one point when the 'dude in the watch-tower' told me they were gaining on me!! Yikes!!
I know it wont be to everyone's taste, but it reminded me of an old computer game I used to play years ago. But as for the running it takes away the monotony of speeding up/slowing down and it's almost the distraction of the game that makes you forget how tired your legs are, because all you want to do is run when those Zombies are on your tail!!
Can't wait for my next 'mission'
